Q. What if I want to know the additional history of a policy, or find an earlier version of a policy?
A. To request an archived version of a policy, contact the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, who serves as the University Policy Administrator, at CUA-COMPLIANCE@CUA.EDU or tel. (202) 319-6170.
Q. What if there is no archived version of the policy, but I believe that there was an earlier version?
A. If there is no archived version, this means we did not have the policy in electronic format. You will then need to consult the older versions of print documents such as the Announcements, the Student Handbook, the Faculty Handbook, and the Staff Handbook.
Q. What if I cannot remember the name of a policy, and I cannot find it on the web page?
A. The search button is located on the top right-hand side of the page. Type any word in the search box, and all policies with that word contained anywhere in the policy will appear. The one exception is new policies. It takes anywhere from 1 to 30 days for Google to cache the policy. Also, you may always contact the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer for assistance in locating a policy.
Q. Where do I find new policies?
A. New and revised policies will be listed under the NEW AND REVISED box on the right hand side of the policy home page. You can click directly to the new or revised policy from that box.
Q. How do I find policies by subject area?
A. The topic headings in the dark-blue bar across the top of each page will expand when you hover your mouse over them, revealing additional topic headings to help you navigate to the specific policy area you're looking for. For example, hover over Students and you will see a drop down menu with links to the Academic Policies for Undergraduate Students, Academic Policies for Graduate Students, Enrollment Policies, and Student Life Policies.
Q. What about related procedures?
A. Procedures and guidelines often are linked in the Related Information section of the policy. Such procedures generally will be published on the home page of the area in which they reside. For example, the Copyright Guidelines are housed on the Office of General Counsel website. However, every attempt will be made to link to the related procedures from the policy. If you are aware of related procedures that are not linked, please feel free to forward them to CUA-COMPLIANCE@CUA.EDU for linking.
